Authentication/LEGALISATION

Any official document (such as Birth Certificates, Marriage Certificates, Death Certificates, College Degrees, etc.) issued by the Irish government (agency) that you intend to use in Malaysia must be legalized before it is legally accepted. Please visit the Department of Foreign Affairs for the verification of your documents first before you make an appointment with the Embassy. After you have received the verification stamp from Department of Foreign Affairs, you can make an appointment with the Embassy to have your document legalised for the use in Malaysia. 

Please bring the following items to your appointment:

  1. Valid passport, Malaysian identification card (IC) and GNIB/IRP
  2. Documents with the verification stamp from the Department of Foreign Affairs
  3. Application fee (Please bring the exact amount in cash/bank transfer)

Visa/legalisation agencies must also include an authorization letter.

Please note that the Malaysian Embassy in Dublin is only able to legalize Irish documents for the use in Malaysia. Legalisation of Malaysian official documents, that will be used in Ireland, can only be done by the respective agencies (if applicable), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Malaysia and the Embassy of Ireland in Kuala Lumpur.
