Malaysian citizens in Ireland are subject to local law and judicial procedures, which differ significantly from those in Malaysia.

Under the 1963 Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, the Irish Government is obliged to notify the Embassy expeditiously of the arrest or detention of a Malaysian citizen.

We are committed to assist you and your families within the limits of our authority and in accordance with local law.  We can assist imprisoned Malaysians contact their families, and can facilitate transfer of funds between the family and the detained, if necessary.
